Brothers and Sisters,
 
Please find attached a memorandum regarding our recent retroactive pay. To date, I only know of four Engineers in our entire work zone who encountered problems Two of the four received no payment at all, while the other two were significantly short. However, as General Chairman Kenny notes in his attached memo, the company may not have properly credited some extra board guarantee payments and company business earnings. In those cases, an additional adjustment may occur.

Highly recommended reading! If you cannot open the link copied below, go to the BLET National Division website for more information. I had the privilege of speaking with President Pierce about his then only planned letter to Lindsey Graham, when I was in Jacksonville, FL last month. It is rare, if not unheard of, for a BLET President to take on a Senator in this fashion. However, I hope you will all agree, this letter clearly needed to be written.

BLET Political Action Committee (PAC)

Brothers and Sisters,
 
I arrived in Washington DC last night and was immediately reminded why contributions to the BLET Political Action Committee (PAC) are so important. Amtrak's survival is once again at stake and a clear target in the Transportation Bill, having just survived a nearly identical attack by the House of Representatives only a few short months ago. In addition, the Railway Labor Act (RLA) is under threat by the FAA re-authorization bill, which is detailed in the attached letter from BLET President Pierce sent to President Obama earlier today. Also attached is a copy of a recent article from National Legislative Representative John Tolman describing last year's Amtrak fight.
 
I personally increased my PAC contribution last month and would encourage you all to do the same. Simply go to the BLET National Legislative Office website at: 
  
 
Once on the website, go to the link "BLET Political Action Committee" and fill out the short online form. Your contribution will be added to your union dues each month and can be changed or cancelled at any time.
